**Activities** are the building blocks of your itinerary: every flight, hotel stay, restaurant and excursion.

===== Adding an activity =====

Tap **“+”** on a day in the trip overview (or “Add” in the [[en:day_view|day plan]]). The screen **“What would you like to add?”** opens:

  * **Search field** – type e.g. “hotel” or “ferry”.
  * **Recently used** and **Fits this trip** – the most likely types at the top.
  * **Without a form** – four quick ways:

  * Below, all types in four groups: **Mobility · Accommodation · On site · Other**, plus **“Multi-day trip”** for multi-day journeys.

**AI import rule:** the AI only takes over what is literally in the document and shows you the result for review before anything is saved. Uncertain entries are discarded.

==== Input helpers ====

  * **Prefill:** new activities start with a sensible time (after the previous one ends, rounded to the quarter hour) and the place where you are that day.
  * **Address search with map:** search a place, check it on the map and apply it. The search prefers results near your trip; the globe button searches worldwide. With Premium, **phone, website and opening hours** are added for hotels and parking.
  * **Times** are picked in 5-minute steps and always refer to **local time** – a flight at 14:05 in New York stays 14:05, wherever you are.

===== Viewing and editing =====

Tap an activity to open its details: times, map, information, **documents**, **costs** and **personal booking details**. Use “Edit” to change it; you'll be asked about unsaved changes when leaving.

  * **Duplicate** – a copy, optionally moved by a few days (without costs, documents and booking details).
  * **Create return trip** – e.g. from the outbound journey: start and destination are swapped.
  * **Delete**.

===== Booking details per person & tickets =====

For flights, trains, buses, ships, hotels, holiday apartments and events, **each person can store their own booking details**: seat, coach, room, cabin, block/row/seat, booking reference, frequent flyer number.

  * **Ticket code:** scan your ticket's barcode with the camera, choose a photo or import an **Apple Wallet ticket**. Explority then shows the code large and scannable (QR, Aztec – e.g. rail tickets –, PDF417, Code128 …).
  * In private trips all travellers see everyone's booking details. In group trips, leaders see all, participants only their own.

===== Documents and costs on the activity =====

  * Attach **documents** (PDF, photos) directly to the activity, e.g. the hotel confirmation. → [[en:documents|Documents]]
  * Record **costs** here too; they automatically appear in the trip's [[en:expenses|finances]].

===== Saved activities =====

Not sure yet when you'll visit the museum? **Save an activity** without a day. You'll find it under **“Saved activities”** and can later schedule it onto a day. Saved activities count neither in the itinerary nor in the CO₂ balance.

===== Private activities (group trips) =====

In a group trip every participant can add **private activities** – such as a dinner with the family. **Only that person** sees them, not even the trip leaders. Activities created by participants are automatically private.
