===== How it works =====

Explority stores your trips **on your device first**. If you're signed in, they're synced with the cloud in the background – and so reach your other devices and your fellow travellers.

  * Changes are **sent in batches** (usually within about 30 seconds).
  * If two people changed the same thing, the **newer change wins**. Checklists are merged entry by entry so nothing gets lost.
  * The **cloud icon** on a trip shows its state: synced, waiting for upload, syncing or not available (e.g. without signing in).

When you first sign in on a new device, Explority downloads all trips and activities; a progress screen shows how far it is.

===== Offline =====

**Everything already loaded works without internet:** itinerary, day plan (travel times are estimated), documents, checklist, expenses, travel documents, emergency view.

You can also **create and change things offline** – they're sent as soon as you're back online. Even deleting and leaving a trip is caught up later.

Features that need internet are **greyed out** offline and explain why when tapped:
  * flight search and live status,
  * place search and route calculation,
  * AI features (import, assistant),
  * inviting, joining, signing in, purchases.

Small extras like weather or address suggestions simply don't appear offline.

===== Without an account =====

If you use Explority without signing in, your trips are stored **only on this device**. If you sign in later, they're uploaded. So back up important trips with an account – if the device is lost, local trips are gone otherwise.

===== Signing out =====

**Signing out** removes all of your account's data **from the device** (it stays in the cloud). Pending changes are sent first. The [[en:travel_documents|vault]] is separate – back it up yourself before changing devices.
