In Explority, a **trip** is the frame for everything else: activities, expenses, checklist, documents and fellow travellers always belong to a trip.

===== Creating a trip =====

Tap **“New trip”** on the home screen. Creating a trip takes three steps:

  - **Travel dates** – mark the period directly in the calendar (first and last day).
  - **Destinations** – search for cities and add them. Each destination appears numbered on the map. For each one you set the **arrival day**, so the app knows where you are on which day (important for weather, suggestions and the itinerary). You can remove destinations again – if the first one is removed, the next one takes over the start of the trip.
  - **More details** – name, cover photo (suggestions for your destination, your own photo from gallery or camera) and optionally a **budget**.

Organisers and tour operators also see the **Group trip** switch with “Who's travelling?” (class, club, company, family) and privacy settings – see [[en:group_trips|Group trips]].

==== Creating a trip from a document ====

Do you have a **travel programme as PDF or photo** (e.g. from a tour operator)? Organisers can let AI create a trip from it: name, dates, destinations and programme items are read; you review everything before it's saved. The AI only copies what is in the document – missing details stay empty.

===== The trip overview =====

When you open a trip you see:

  * A **header** with cover photo, flags of the countries you visit, travel dates, weather and – in group trips – your role.
  * **Quick access** to the trip's tools: [[en:expenses|Finances]], [[en:checklist|Checklist]], [[en:documents|Documents]], [[en:sharing|Share trip]], [[en:tools|Travel assistant]], Preparation and more.
  * In group trips, pinned **messages** from the trip leaders and the cards **“Set up the trip”** (leaders) or **“Your to-dos”** (participants).
  * **Day cards**: one card per day with date, place (when it changes) and all activities in chronological order.
    * **“+”** adds an activity for that day.
    * Tapping the **date** opens the [[en:day_view|day plan with map]].
    * Multi-day bookings (e.g. a hotel) appear on the first day; running [[en:multi_day_journeys|multi-day journeys]] as a slim line.
  * At the end, a **CO₂ estimate** for the trip.

On tablets and computers the overview uses two or three columns: trip and tools on the left, itinerary in the middle, details of the selected activity on the right.

==== Filtering the itinerary ====

Use the filter to narrow the plan to certain kinds (getting around, accommodation, food, programme, other) and hide **past** or **empty days**.

==== Preparation – “What's missing?” ====

The **Preparation** card checks your trip and shows open points, for example:
  * activities without a place,
  * bookings without a document,
  * many days without a plan,
  * open payments,
  * (group trip) participants who haven't provided their details yet.

Completed points are shown in green; once everything is done the card disappears. A completely empty trip counts as “not planned yet” and triggers no hints.

===== Editing a trip =====

Use the edit button in the trip header to change name, dates, destinations and – for group trips – capacity, deadlines and privacy.

  * **Moving the dates:** if you shift the whole trip, the app offers to move all activities too. Activities that would then fall outside the trip are shown to you.
  * **Destinations:** what you change changes – everything else stays. A new destination follows the last one; a deleted one leaves a gap you can fill yourself.

===== All trips =====

**“All trips”** lists every trip with search (name, destination) and filters: **all / upcoming / ongoing / past** as well as **group / private**.

===== Adding to your calendar =====

A trip can be exported to your device calendar, including flights, hotels and destinations.

===== Deleting or leaving =====

  * **Deleting your own trip:** it disappears for you and all fellow travellers. They see a notice that the trip was deleted.
  * **Leaving a shared trip:** if you're only a member, you leave; the trip remains for the others.
  * Both also work offline – syncing with the cloud happens as soon as you're back online.
